Reverse text without losing its layout
Text Reverser changes the order of characters, words, or complete lines. Each mode keeps the original spaces and line breaks, so a multi-line list remains a multi-line list.
Choose what to reverse
Reverse characters reverses the visible characters inside each line.
Reverse words reverses the word order inside each line without joining separate lines.
Reverse lines moves the last line to the first position and leaves the text inside each line unchanged.
For example, reversing the words in red green blue produces blue green red. Applying the same action again restores the original order.
How to reverse text
Enter the text
Paste or type one line, a paragraph, or a multi-line list.
Choose an action
Reverse characters, words, or lines. The result replaces the text in the editor so you can review it immediately.
Use the result
Copy the text or download it as a plain text file. Apply the same action a second time if you want to restore the previous order.
If the order is correct but the capitalization is not, use the Case Converter.
What happens to spacing and Unicode text?
The tool treats visible Unicode character clusters as a unit. This keeps most emoji, accented letters, and joined characters together when character order is reversed. Existing spaces, tabs, and line-ending style are retained.
Bidirectional text can still look surprising because browsers display Arabic, Hebrew, numbers, and punctuation according to Unicode direction rules. The underlying order is reversed even when the visual result is not a simple mirror image.
What is the difference between reversing characters, words, and lines?
Character mode changes the character order within each line, word mode changes the word order within each line, and line mode changes only the order of complete lines.
Can I reverse a list without combining its lines?
Yes. Reverse Words keeps every item on its existing line, while Reverse Lines changes the order of the items without changing their text.
Are spaces and line breaks preserved?
Yes. Spaces, tabs, and line breaks stay as separators in their original form instead of being collapsed into a single line.
Does text reversal work with emoji and right-to-left text?
It supports Unicode character clusters, including most emoji and accented characters. Right-to-left text is also accepted, although its visual order depends on the browser's bidirectional-text rules.
How do I undo a reversed result?
Run the same reverse action again. Character, word, and line reversal each return to the original order when applied twice.
Is my text uploaded?
No. Text is reversed in your browser without being sent to our servers. It stays in the page until you clear it, refresh, or close the page. Copying or downloading does not clear the editor.
